TBH Index is an unofficial hub for Task Bar Hero, an idle RPG by Tesseract Studio. It brings together live Steam Market prices, a stash valuator, cube and crafting calculators, a full game wiki, player rankings, a builds planner and community guides.
The site began as a single stash valuator: Task Bar Hero saves your progress locally, and there was no way to answer "what is everything in my stash actually worth?" without pricing each item by hand on the Steam Community Market. That one tool has since grown into the broader hub it is today, and the stash inspector has now run over 442,000 times.
Prices come from the Steam Community Market, where Task Bar Hero items are traded between players. TBH Index reads the live order book - the actual standing buy and sell orders - rather than only the last sale price, so an item with a wide spread or thin demand can be recognised as such instead of appearing to have one clean value. Price history is retained per item, so you can see how an item has moved over time rather than only where it sits today.
Game data is a separate source. Item stats, drop tables, chest odds, hero skills and monster stats are read directly from the game's own data files, which means the numbers shown here are the numbers the game uses - not community estimates or crowd-sourced guesses. When the game patches, this data is regenerated.
Your save file is decrypted and parsed on your own device using the browser's File API, so it is never sent anywhere in readable form. Loading a save does create a public Player Profile for the Steam ID inside it, and syncs a summary of your progress along with an encrypted copy of the save so it can follow your account across devices. The Privacy Policy covers exactly what is sent and how to remove it.
Two things on this site can be wrong in different ways. Market prices are only as current as the last time they were fetched, and a thinly-traded item can show a price no one is actually willing to pay right now - always check the order book before a large trade. Game data is read from the game files themselves and is usually exact, but a patch can change values before this site catches up. If you find a number here that disagrees with the game, that is a bug worth reporting, and reports genuinely do get fixed.
