Does Contamination drain over time or per stage cleared in Task Bar Hero?
Over time. Confirmed directly in the game's code: while you're inside the Plaguelands, Contamination drops by a fixed amount for every real-world second that passes, regardless of how many stages you clear or how fast you clear them. It only appears tied to stage clears because that's the only moment the UI re-reads the value from the server.
Does Contamination still drain if I close Task Bar Hero while inside the Plaguelands?
Yes. The drain is wall-clock based: the server stores your last Contamination value and the exact timestamp it was set, then recomputes the true amount from elapsed real time whenever it's next read - whether that's seconds or hours later, logged in or not.
How do I get Contamination in Task Bar Hero?
Two ways: the Cube's Corrosion recipe melts items into Contamination (the amount scales with the item's grade, and for gear, its slot), and Plague Fruit is a dedicated Plaguelands-only material that adds Contamination directly.
