An Inscription material grants one randomly rolled stat to a gear item's Inscription slot. It is the rarest of the three socket types - only 10 materials roll Inscription effects, versus 36 for Decoration and 33 for Engraving.
What is the difference between Decoration, Engraving and Inscription?
They are three independent socket types on the same item, each fed by its own set of materials and each with its own slot count per grade. Filling one does not consume the others.
