Have at least 3 in your inventory, except for your mage who initially have all ele res

This is true, especially when you have low budget. It will save slots for this. Because your highest element res(fire, cold or lightning, but not chaos and physical), become all element res, which is all 3.

Example with all 3 beyond armor plus the beyond eternal armor. Now you have 3 mystic topaz, 3 phantom emerald and 8 void ichor, you may wish to have 135% lightning+fire+cold res, 135% chaos res, and 75% dmg reduction. Plus 2 more void opal for hp

But without it. You use all element res instead, you use 8 astral diamond to fill, but now you also use 8 void ichors, 3 for chaos res, and 5 for dmg reduction. You have 75% res, yet, less than 75% dmg reduction. Also no space for additional hp
