How do I compare two items in Task Bar Hero?
Search for an item on each side and the page scores both for the hero you pick, showing the DPS and effective-HP difference plus a stat-by-stat breakdown. Load your save and it scores them against your real passives, runes and skill levels instead of a bare hero.
Is it fair to compare a socketed item against one without sockets?
No, and that is the most common way an item comparison misleads people. An item you have already socketed will beat a bare one on paper even when the bare item is the better piece, because you would socket that one too. This page therefore also scores both sides with the SAME sockets, so you compare the items rather than the sockets.
Why does a weaker-looking item still get used in builds?
Because some items carry a unique modifier that raw damage and survivability maths cannot score - a cooldown reduction on your equipped skill, an extra hit, or matching the party's fastest movement speed. Those items can lose on plain stats while still being the reason a build works, so the comparison flags them instead of just showing a red minus.
